Mrs. Jean Hale (Spanish—K–2nd Grades) went to school at Seattle Pacific University and graduated in Latin American Studies and Elementary Education with endorsements in Spanish and ESL for K-12. Mrs. Hale (aka: Señora Luisa) was mentored by a master teacher using the TPR Storytelling method which emphasizes first hearing and doing the language, then reading and writing Spanish. She also lived in Peru for 12 years. Mrs. Hale has been teaching at Northshore since 2005.
Mr. Eudis Matos (Spanish—3rd–8th Grades)
graduated with a BA in Elementary/Middle School Education from UAFAM
University in Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic. Mr. Matos was born and grew
up in the Dominican Republic, before moving to Washington in 2009. His
first five years of teaching were at Doulos Discovery School (a
Bilingual Experiential Education Christian school in Jarabacoa). At
Doulos, he taught Pre-Kindergarten-4th grade and various middle school
classes including P.E., Computers, and Ethics. After moving to
Washington, he began teaching Spanish at NCA where he has now taught 2nd
grade through Middle School Spanish since 2010. Mr. Matos has also played semi-pro baseball!
